Led by Chris Miller, LSWPP - the UK’s first Certified Dog Photography Master - MIL Pet Photography combines professional photography expertise with specialist knowledge of dogs, including a Diploma in Canine Behaviour Training and certification as a Pet Loss Grief Specialist.
Every dog photography session is designed to be a relaxed and enjoyable experience for both you and your dog, resulting in beautiful artwork for your home including wall art and luxury albums.
Do you capture the true character of your dog, or is something missing?
You take 100s of photos on your phone of your dog. Many of them are amazing, and they are the ones you'll share on social media, with friends and family. With each generation of mobile phone, the cameras continue to improve and often produce stunning images.
You know, though, that something is often missing.
Maybe as you are taking the images, you can't easily be part of the story - and so the relationship between you both is somewhat missing.
Maybe your dog wants to be more dog: to jump, leap, catch and have fun - these are times when you realise your phone just cannot capture what you see.
Maybe your dog cannot be off lead in public, and you have no easy way of removing the lead in your image.
Perhaps you want to consider some of your favourites for your wall, and when you print them, you see different colours, if you can print them at all. Maybe your black dog is not as black and is missing the beauty in the images you see in reality.
The MIL Pet Photography Experience
Our dog photography sessions are designed to be relaxed and enjoyable for both you and your dog. Sessions usually take place at beautiful outdoor locations around Windsor, Ascot, and the surrounding Berkshire and Surrey countryside. During the session your dog can run, explore and have fun while we capture natural portraits that reflect their personality. A truly magical experience for you and your dog.
A magical and unforgettable experience for you and your dog
We are an animal loving husband and wife based between Ascot & Windsor in the UK who believe that every dog lover deserves incredible professional dog photography portraits of their dog being themselves. In natural outdoor surroundings, and with a happy and relaxed approach. Where your dog can run and play, and just have fun.
We take quality time to get to know you and your dog, putting you all at ease very quickly. We are dog photography specialists who love nothing more than capturing that unique emotional connection and deep, unconditional love between you and your beloved dog. You may be considering a series of "Watch Me Grow" sessions for your puppy, or you may have a very sensitive or anxious dog. Utilising both our formal diploma in Canine Behaviour and our sincere love of dogs, it means we never rush our time together and work at the speed of you and your dog.
If your dog needs to remain on lead throughout, that's no issue - we remove the lead afterwards in our certified Dog Photography Masters editing.
We provide meaningful examples and suggestions, and the chance to share your own ideas and thoughts, to create together jaw dropping, outdoor dog photography and a magical unforgettable experience for you and your dog.

Frequently Asked Questions
What types of dogs do you photograph?
We photograph all breeds of dogs, from energetic puppies to senior companions. Flying cocker spaniels have become a specialty since I qualified as a Master in Dog Photography with my "Dogs in Action" images. Many of our clients travel from across Berkshire, Surrey, London and the surrounding counties to enjoy a relaxed outdoor photography experience with their dog.
Where are your dog photography sessions held?
Most dog photography sessions take place in woodland and park locations around Windsor, Ascot, and the surrounding Berkshire and Surrey countryside. Popular locations include Windsor Great Park, Virginia Water and other quiet natural areas where dogs can relax and enjoy themselves.
Do dogs need to be trained?
Not at all. Most dogs simply need to be happy and comfortable outdoors. With certification in canine behaviour, Chris is able to adapt every dog photography session as needed. It is one of the reasons we regularly photograph anxious dogs, and still get natural outdoor portraits.
Can my dog stay on the lead?
Yes. Leads can be removed during editing if needed. For young dogs or those with poor recall, a lead is highly recommended. Some of our clients prefer an urban session, which usually requires a lead at all times.
How long is a session?
One of our natural outdoor dog photography sessions normally last around 60–90 minutes.
Do you photograph elderly dogs?
Yes, and take great time and care over these woodland sessions as there is something very special about a senior dog. We also provide specialist end-of-life and Rainbow Bridge sessions, where we work together to create One Last Magical Adventure for you and your dog.

Introducing MIL Pet Photography
About Chris and Sue Miller
MIL Pet Photography is run by Chris and Sue Miller, a husband-and-wife team based in Windsor and Ascot, Berkshire. Chris is an award-winning dog photographer and the UK’s first certified Dog Photography Master, with additional qualifications in Canine Behaviour Training and Pet Loss Grief Support. This combination of photography expertise and understanding of dogs allows us to create relaxed sessions where every dog can shine. Click here for more details about us.
Chris' photography style is natural, relaxed, and inspired by the beautiful woodland landscapes around Windsor and Ascot. Rather than posed studio images, sessions take place outdoors where dogs can explore woodland paths, run through the countryside, and simply enjoy being themselves. By photographing dogs in these natural surroundings, he's able to create timeless portraits that capture their personality, spirit, and the special connection they share with their families.
"I’m Chris Miller, and am an award winning UK Dog Photographer, certified Pet Loss Grief Specialist (for the most compassionate Rainbow Bridge sessions - see here) and have a diploma in Canine Behaviour Training too. With my wife Sue, we are MIL Pet Photography and published authors with Tails of Windsor and Ascot, and have photographed for many UK dog charities too.
I understand that your dog is such an important part of your life. When you engage with a photographer, you want someone who is unobtrusive but captures those intimate moments of you and your family and friends.
I guarantee you will fall in love with the photographs of your beautiful dog, and that these will be fully edited and ready to review within 30 days of your MIL Pet Photography Experience."

Giving Back for Dogs and Telling Their Stories - Charity Dog Photography
We believe that every dog should have the home they deserve. There are wonderful dogs that work to make such a difference to the lives of others. Whether they are disability assistance dogs, or dogs that can detect medical conditions such as epilepsy, they are all amazing to us. So many people with autism are also supported by phenomenal dogs, and of course the heartfelt work of therapy dogs makes such a difference to the lives of those they touch.
Regardless of whether they are working dogs or rescue dogs, we will help tell their story if we can. By limiting our private client sessions to just 30 MIL Pet Photography Experiences each year, it means we have quality time to provide professional free photography to UK Dog Rescues, Dog Shelters, and registered Dog Charities. Click here for more details on our charity work.
If you'd like to join us and make a difference together, we raise funds for Support Dogs - full details are available and you can make a donation here too.
